Town Planner (Manager/Senior/Mid Level) Job in Sydney, NSW

ABOUT YOU
• Degree in town planning, urban planning, or a related field, with a sound understanding of relevant NSW planning legislation and policy frameworks.
• 3–10 years of professional experience in consulting or government, particularly in development assessment, strategic planning, or policy development.
(note this is a wide range, as we have several roles on).
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, and can confidently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Client-focused, proactive, and comfortable collaborating within a hybrid work setup.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you’ll lead or support the preparation of planning applications, strategic studies, and policy development. You’ll collaborate with councils, developers, and community stakeholders across all stages of project delivery, from research and reporting to approvals and presentations.

Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing development applications, planning reports, and related documentation
• Providing expert advice on planning controls, zoning, and compliance
• Supporting strategic planning initiatives such as precinct and master planning
• Liaising with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to drive project outcomes
• Monitoring changes in NSW planning legislation and policy
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing
