Senior Engineer - Steel Structures Job in Sydney, NSW

About You
• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Approximately 10+ years' experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on steel design.
• Sound knowledge of AS 4100, AS 1170 and the NCC.
• Proven experience designing steel frames, connections, mezzanines and platforms.
Proficiency with analysis and drafting tools such as Strand7, SpaceGass, Microstran, ETABS, AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Chartered (CPEng/NER) or well on the way to chartership will be highly regarded.
• Experience with alterations, additions and extensions involving steel will be well regarded.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with builders, fabricators, architects and certifiers.
• The ability to review the work of others and guide less experienced engineers.

About the Role
• Design and document structural steel elements and connections across a mix of building and industrial projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings and reports to support approvals and construction.
• Respond to RFIs and provide engineering support during construction.
• Carry out site inspections and structural compliance reviews where required.
• Contribute to specialist work such as crane bases and mezzanine structures.
• Check and review work produced by junior engineers and drafters.
• Liaise with builders, fabricators, consultants and certifiers to keep projects moving.
• Manage your own workload and deadlines across multiple projects.
