Associate Electrical Engineer - Building Services Job in Sydney, NSW

The Opportunity

Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer ready to step up to an Associate-level position? We have an excellent opportunity with a leading multidisciplinary building services engineering consultancy based in Sydney.

Our client is growing their team and looking for an experienced electrical engineer ready to take on greater technical responsibility, mentor junior engineers, and lead on high-profile projects across the building services sector.

You'll work on diverse projects, from residential and commercial developments to industrial and heritage structures. This is a genuine step-up role for someone ready to develop their leadership skills while maintaining hands-on involvement in design and engineering.

What You'll Do
• Lead the electrical design and coordination of medium to large building services projects.
• Mentor and support junior and graduate engineers in the team.
• Manage client relationships and liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants.
• Prepare detailed specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Undertake site visits and provide onsite technical support during construction.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and standards.
• Stay current with relevant codes, standards, and sustainable design practices.

What We're Looking For

Essential:
• 5+ years of experience in electrical design for building services consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and Building Codes.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead a small team.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• A desire to grow into a leadership role or currently an Associate Electrical Engineer.
